Jane Andrews, CASA's Director, Welcomes
ACC vs. SEC Alumni Club's Selection of CASA

CASA, Inc. of Davidson County is thrilled and honored to partner with the local ACC and SEC Alumni Clubs on their charity golf tournament scheduled for October 13, 2008.

CASA is an acronym for Court Appointed Special Advocate and our mission is to provide trained community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who come to the attention of the court primarily as a result of abuse or neglect. We are the only nonprofit agency to provide these services in Davidson County. We do not have any income generating services, therefore, we rely on the generosity of the community we serve to fund our operations.

During our fiscal year 2007-08, 225 volunteers advocated on behalf of 530 child victims of abuse. We are proud to have helped that many children. Unfortunately there were approximately another 1,500 children in need of an advocate who didn’t get one due to our limited number of volunteer Special Advocates and our limited resources to recruit and train more. The proceeds of the ACC vs. SEC Alumni Golf Tournament will be a significant help to our organization in meeting our budget and in serving more children.

You can learn more about our organization on our website: www.casa-nashville.org . We look forward to getting to know each club, as well. You are to be commended for working together on a project that will have such a positive impact on these vulnerable children and ultimately on our community at large. CASA, Inc., our board of directors, staff and volunteers are committed to working with you to make this event a huge success.
